Wadden Sea

Wadden Sea

Explore the West Frisian Islands which, due to their location are known as “the Dutch pearls”. The Wadden Sea is the largest unbroken wetlands in Europe and is unique because of its many sandbars and thousands of seals. The tides and currents make your sailing trip on the Wadden Sea a true sailing adventure. Again and again the salt water challenges you to steer the correct course. At low tide the ship could be beached in which case you can walk on the sandbars. It is a beautiful sea at high tide, but its most impressive features are the vast salt marshes and tidal flats. The incredible abundance of birds provides a fascinating visual and audible spectacle. Just like the Wadden Sea, the five islands seethe with life.Nature has the upper hand on Texel,Vlieland,Terschelling, Ameland and Schiermonnikoog. Here you will find peace and quiet, beaches and dunes, beautiful flora and fauna, high skies and views of both the North Sea and the Wadden Sea. Each island has its own peculiarities and attractions that invite a visit!
